Like its multi-award-winning brother, the In-Line Crystal Dibber boasts a transparent body that sets it apart from every other pole float out there. A clear body is much more difficult for a fish to detect, so carp and other shallow-feeding species are less easily spooked.
The clever in-line design really helps to avoid tangles and is also much more difficult to become snagged should a fish run through reed beds and other underwater obstacles. The float is also ideal for repeatedly ‘slapping’ on the surface to mimic the sound of loose feed.
The domed tips are also extremely buoyant and a great choice for supporting large pellets, dumbells, worms, corn or cubes of meat. A choice of red, orange or yellow Glow Tips ensures it is easy to see at range or against features such as reeds.
The In-Line Crystal Dibber has taken a considerable amount of time and expertise to perfect and takes our unique blow moulding technology a stage further. Drennan’s unique Crystal technology was once just the domain of wagglers and running-line floats – but it has now entered the realm of pole floats!
We believe we are the only manufacturers in the world capable of ‘blow-moulding’ these super-tough pole float bodies to such a small, exacting size. Our latest machine is even smaller than that used to create our famous Puddlechucker pellet wagglers.
An obvious advantage of a Crystal Dibber is how unobtrusive it is in clear or shallow water. A solid-coloured pole float casts a distinct shadow and is much more visible to fish feeding up in the water or in the marginal shallows and so cannot compare to a see-through design like this. That means a fish is less easily spooked and much more willing to venture towards your hook bait. This is a major advantage when fishing up in the water for any species, from carp and F1s to roach and chub. Ultimately, it will mean more bites and more fish in the net!
These floats are just as light and buoyant as balsa and more buoyant than foam, so nothing is compromised. The short, unobtrusive design is ideal for most shallow water applications while the domed glow tip is easy to locate above the surface. The float body is ultra tough and durable while a bonded glass stem is a good compromise between the stability of a wire stem and the extra durability of carbon.
The floats also feature a conventional looking side eye that is almost impossible to pull out in normal use. This is thanks to a unique way of attaching it. Instead of piercing the body and being angled downwards, the side eye is actually angled upwards and cleverly fused in place between the pole float body and the fluorescent ‘cap’ of the domed tip!
In tests, these floats take on almost chameleon-like properties in the water. Some of our consultants have even commented how anglers on adjacent pegs thought they were not even using a float!

In-line Shallow Crystals are a tangle free design, ultra tough construction, and x times stronger than foam or balsa bodied floats. With the line passing directly through the fluorescent tip and body, this unique in-line design radically reduces wrap over tangles associated with shallow fishing. This tangle-free feature is also a huge advantage when repeatedly slapping the rig on the surface to mimic the impact of loose feeding pellet.
In-line Shallow Crystals are also perfect for fishing tight to far bank cover, commercial islands or in shallow margin pegs. The transparent Crystal body ensures the float is much less conspicuous to wary fish, which is a massive advantage over traditionally painted pole floats, especially on heavily fished waters.
Diamond Crystal:
Diamond Crystal is the latest addition to Drennan’s unique range of crystal pole floats.
By their very nature, pole floats have always been rather delicate, however the Drennan Crystal ® range all have extra tough, blow moulded bodies which cannot be line cut or shot damaged. By comparison to balsa or foam bodies, they’re effectively bullet proof!
The other major advantage over painted floats is that they are transparent, crystal clear and far less conspicuous to wary fish.
Although primarily designed for fishing medium to large baits in open water, the classic body shape of Diamond Crystal makes this a truly versatile design. The extra long, semi-flexible fibre glass stem acts like a keel, ensuring perfect behaviour and stability. The 2.5mm diameter hollow glow tip provides fantastic visibility in a wide variety of light conditions. And of course, this buoyant tip can be dotted right down on harder days and for shy biting fish. A full circle, carp side eye is mounted at the base of the hollow tip which is reinforced internally for extra strength. This full circle eye and mounting system protects the line and ensures the eye cannot be ripped out of the body, like a traditional side eye.
