Monofilament line falls into two distinct categories.
The first type is long-life, tough, abrasion resistant and doesn't damage easily. Unfortunately, it is prone to being springy and comes off the spool in coils.
The second category is extremely supple and limp and easy to manage on the spool and when casting. However, being soft tends to make it more prone to damage.
Incredibly Supplex has the best of both characteristics!! Extremely supple (hence the name) but at the same time long life, abrasion resistant and resistant to damage from shot.
Peter Drennan has been quoted as saying this is the best line he has ever seen in over 50 plus years of fishing!
